The transport market of Spain is characterized by its fragmentation. Many small, often family-owned companies operate within the Spanish transport market. For example, a dozen of different companies may serve a subcontracted operation of 50 vehicles. The same was the case at the Spanish supermarket DIA, part of the French multinational retailer Groupe Carrefour
