Companies Recognized for Technology Innovations that Advance Business Results
ORTEC, a leading provider of advanced planning and optimization software solutions, announced today that multiple customers were included among the recipients of this year’s "CIO 100 Award" by CIO Magazine. Awarded annually at the CIO Symposium & Awards Ceremony, the CIO 100 award recognizes organizations that are demonstrating innovation to deliver business value. This can be achieved by creating competitive advantage, optimizing business processes, enabling growth or improving relationships with customers.
Among those awarded was ORTEC customer Restaurant Technologies Inc., (RTI). The company is the developer, distributor, and service provider of the food service industry's leading automated solution for storing, handling, and disposing of frying oil. The company’s innovative use of technology to optimize its inventory replenishment and dynamic routing processes contributed to its selection for a CIO 100 Award.
“We are very proud to be a recipient of a CIO 100 Award. This prestigious honor is a testament of our ongoing efforts to utilize innovative technologies and processes to create positive business performance,” commented Randy Witt, Director of IT, RTI. “One such example, and part of the reason for our selection, was our decision to revamp how we do our distribution scheduling. We selected ORTEC’s forecasting and routing software to help us with this initiative and it has contributed to our reduced distribution costs and, even more importantly, improvements in our customer service performance.”
“We congratulate RTI, a long time ORTEC customer, on its receipt of this coveted award,” said Don Addington, ORTEC’s President of the Americas. “RTI and its team of talented, innovative employees set a great example for other businesses. We are thrilled to see them identified as the technological leader we know them to be.”
Every year, CIO identifies and honors 100 organizations that have distinguished themselves in their use of IT. The 24th annual CIO 100 will honor 100 companies that are using information technology in innovative ways to create business value. Companies completed an online application for consideration. Judges made recommendations and CIO editors selected 100 honorees.
