ORTEC has won the 2009 Dutch Logistics award. This was announced by the vereniging Logistiek management (vLm) on 11 November during a dinner at Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Zeeland’s Commissioner to the Queen and former Minster of Traffic and Waterways, Ms Karla Pejis, declared the winner of the award and presented a silver sculpture and framed certificate.
Each year the vereniging Logistiek management awards outstanding achievement in the discipline of Logistics. The winner of the Dutch Logistics award is selected based on successful completion of an innovative project. By means of this award, vLm aims to stimulate innovation and professionalism within Logistics in the Netherlands. The selected candidate needs to be an inspiration and example to other companies.
ORTEC received this award for its contributions to improving the efficiency of logistics processes by means of intelligent planning solutions. Not only does ORTEC contribute to the success of individual companies, but it also contributes to the sustainability and development of the Netherlands as Supply Chain Captains (through which the aims of the Laarhoven Commission can be realized). Therefore, ORTEC’s business achievements are also socially relevant. “With its solutions, ORTEC has brought logistics planning to a much higher level,” according the panel.
Milestone
“This is a very important milestone for us,” explains Aart van Beuzekom, CEO of ORTEC. “It is great to receive such recognition and it really motivates us as a company to continue on the path for which the foundations were laid 27 years ago. Our vision is that theory is only valuable when it is applied in practice. Through this – and in cooperating successfully with our clients and partners – we can become more innovative. For this reason we would also like to thank our clients and partners for the confidence which they place in us.”
2010 will be a year of celebration
Following receipt of the award, ORTEC intends to invest much time and focus on the clients that have implemented ORTEC solutions to become more successful. ORTEC and vLm will organize several meetings and a special congress in June 2010 to highlight, to both the planner and management alike, how important the role of successful planning is for companies. Further information about ORTEC and the vLm will follow in December 09, once the annual program for 2010 is announced.
