The resource shifts function in planning focuses on planning scenarios where multiple routes are assigned to a single resource shift, departing from a depot and requiring a turnaround time. Turnaround time is time needed for driver to prepare for next departure.
This function takes care of container trips, in which two containers are combined on one container trailer.
In planning processes, this function:
- adds functionality to model turnaround duration on an address for a resource, a resource kind or a default value
- takes turnaround durations into account in the scheduler as well as in the Resource Assignment module
- supports this only for routes planned in resource shifts starting with depot actions in the route
